Peter Shumlin
Peter has co-directed Putney with his brother Jeff all of his working life. He was born into educational summers and has globe-trotted throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Americas leading and developing Putney programs and meeting with world leaders during his three terms as Vermont’s 81st governor. He has served as a visiting fellow at Havard’s Kennedy School of Government and is a Menschel Senior Fellow at Harvard’s Chan School of Public Health. His daughters Olivia and Becca are third generation Putney team members and he lives on a farm with his wife Katie Hunt, where they tend to livestock and a big garden.
