Sylvie studied anthropology and Spanish at the University of Vermont, spending three semesters abroad in Spain, Argentina, and Hong Kong, as well as going on many independent research trips to Peru. She went on to pursue a master’s degree in anthropology at Brigham Young University, where she studied community dynamics surrounding water management in two highland villages in the Huarochirí Province of Peru. She has led Putney programs in Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina, and Costa Rica. She coordinates Putney programs in South America, oversees Custom Programs, and works on the leader hiring team. Sylvie speaks Spanish and is learning Mandarin Chinese. She loves horseback riding, being outside with her dogs, Vermont Fall, and eating good food.
