Elda Cordone
While growing up in her native Italy and attending high school at Liceo Linguistico in Viareggio (Tuscany), Elda focused on foreign languages, which helped her work at the International Stone Industry in Marina di Carrara as an Interpreter. She worked as a tour guide to marble quarries in Carrara (Tuscany) in summer while in high school. As a child, Elda traveled to Australia, where she spent three years in New South Wales with her family. She has also traveled to Spain (where her maternal family is from), France, Germany (as part of the swim team), and Portugal. Elda currently teaches Italian and Spanish at a high school in Maryland. Previously, she taught Italian at a public middle school in Maryland and led a student program to Italy in 2019, where students spent two weeks visiting Rome, Naples, and Pompeii. In her spare time, Elda loves to crochet. She is a certified crochet instructor and has taught crochet to middle school students. She also loves music, dancing, and singing. She is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and English, and has limited proficiency in French.Â
